Our Mission in Motion: The Crossroads Advocacy Journey Begins

by Nov 11, 2024News

Dear Stakeholders,

You’re reading this message because you’ve chosen to connect with us. Whether you’ve attended or volunteered for an event, have a loved one who receives our services, or simply want to do good in the world, we’re happy you’ve chosen Crossroads. We don’t take that for granted. We have a vision: seniors and people with disabilities accessing the lives they want, with the care they deserve. And we know that we need each of you to make that happen.

Crossroads has spent the last few years in a state of constant change. We converted our sheltered work shop to an integrated production facility. We merged with Senior Resources. We kicked off two new annual fundraisers. We added a new home and dozens of clients across multiple service divisions. We formed partnerships with Motion Industries and Kent Corporation. We’ve upgraded payroll platforms, electronic documentation systems, staff education, and employee benefits programs. We’ve steadily and dramatically increased wages for frontline staff members.

We are not the Crossroads you used to know.

Actually, you might not have known us before. That’s another thing we’re trying to change. We’re telling our story every chance we get. Whether through traditional media, social media, or simply showing up wherever we can, we’re showing our communities the importance of what we do, the people we serve, and the staff who support them. Each day, we’re cultivating choice and inclusion for seniors and people with disabilities and we want everyone to know it.

This blog is part of that effort. We’re going to celebrate our victories and lay out the changes and challenges ahead. We’ll share news about programs and stories about clients, so you can help project them to your friends and family. We’ll try to keep you up to speed on legislative priorities and ask for your support in contacting our elected officials. As state government reorganizes, we’ll talk about what that means for our clients, our industry, and our communities.

Change is afoot. We hope those changes will benefit us and be easy to manage. If they aren’t, we’re confident in our ability to weather whatever comes our way, especially with stakeholders like you on our side. We hope you’ll join us. We need you.

In Advocacy,

Marc Hine, CEO
