The Work Without Worry bill aligns with Crossroads’ mission by empowering individuals with disabilities to work in competitive employment without sacrificing the healthcare benefits they rely on. This bill would remove barriers that force employees to limit their hours or decline raises, allowing them to fully participate in the workforce and achieve greater independence.

• Iowans with disabilities who work and need Medicaid for health insurance have to limit what they earn to stay on Medicaid.
• Current limits that Medicaid and Social Security impose on earnings and resources are a disincentive for people with disabilities to work.
• This would allow Iowans to maintain health care benefits (Medicaid) while also earning and saving enough to be independent and self-sufficient.
